Wæm Vah Mib (/vah/ /mib/ [wild] [parliament]) is a subtropical Large Town located in Quzipunabu Hold, Ěslorvogwin District, within the Federation of Alveria.

The name Wæm Vah Mib is derived from the Constructi language, as Wæm Vah Mib was founded by Belthel Dyèbe, who was culturaly Constructi.

Climate

Wæm Vah Mib has a yearly average temperature of 26°C (78°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a warm 30°C (86°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a pleasant 23°C (73°F). Wæm Vah Mib receives an average of 210 cm/y (82 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the fall. Wæm Vah Mib covers an area of nearly 6 km2 (2 mi2), and an average elevation of 6078 m (19940 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Wæm Vah Mib was founded durring the late 13th century in fall of the year 1198, by Belthel Dyèbe. The establishment of Wæm Vah Mib was plagued by a lack of willing colonists. After attempts to pay people to resettle failed Belthel Dyèbe struck deals with nearby nations and communities to establish Wæm Vah Mib as a prison colony.

Wæm Vah Mib was built using the conventions of Constructi durring the late 13th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Wæm Vah Mib is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.

Wæm Vah Mib is buildings are arranged arrounded a highly ordered system of broad worn bedrock streets which form triangular paterns, allowing the incides of the octagons to be common grounds for the buildings on the edges, be it for parkland, yardspace, plazas, or markets. The town rests behind the absurdity that is a thick, timber braced, wall made of clay bricks. While visualy impressive and certainly an astetic, Wæm Vah Mib's wall provides no actual defence against siege equipment due to the choice of its cosntruction materials. Even nonexperts can tell the town is trying to impress rather than defend with its walls, towers, and gatehouses. Though admittedly, they do look nice... To primitive tribals who have never seen fortifications before. The town's political statment focused walls have recently undergone extensive repairs and renovations, such that the repairwork is imeadiently apparent and can be spotted due to the diffring ages of materials. One can't help but wonder what brought the need for those repairs to the town.

Wæm Vah Mib has a very calm atmosphere. People can be seen relaxing, scocilizing, and going about all manner of business other than the daily grind. Men, women, children, all can be seen enjoying life in a laid-back way in the many parks which line Wæm Vah Mib’s streets. Yet, deep down, you know this atmosphere is a carefully created illusion. You can see the ocasional seam in their tapestry. You’re not sure what has them doing their best to act so carefree, but act carefree they do.

Civic Infrastructure

Wæm Vah Mib has an animal control department which works to enforce local ordinances relating to the control, impoundment, and disposition of animals.

Wæm Vah Mib has an Office of Civil Groundskeeping, which works to enforce local ordinances relating to the construction and upkeep up of all plant life, water features, and other natural decorations within Wæm Vah Mib. They are also responsible for the maintenance of these features. Notably, the OCG is not responsible for Wæm Vah Mib's parks.

Wæm Vah Mib has an Office of Civil Vicary, which is responsible for providing a livelyhood for all officialy recognised religious figures within Wæm Vah Mib.

Wæm Vah Mib has a Gravedigger's Guild, which is responsible for collecting the dead and laying them to rest according to all applicable laws and religious customs.

Wæm Vah Mib has a Highwayman's Guild, which is tasked with maintaining the roads and highways leading into town as well as keeping them safe for travelers.

Wæm Vah Mib possesses an older civil lighting system consisting of street lamps. These lights provide nighttime illumination to most city streets.

Wæm Vah Mib has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands. They are not to be confused with the Office of Civil Groundskeeping as they do not hold authority over nor responsibility for Wæm Vah Mib's natural decorations nor waterways.

Wæm Vah Mib has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Wæm Vah Mib has a public septic system, which allows its citizens to have indoor bathrooms. The septic system is overseen by the League of Sewerkeepers, who posses the legal authority to enforce all laws relating to the septic system, and are also tasked with its maintenance and upkeep.

Cultural Notes

Wæm Vah Mib's garrison was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is known for its buildings being predominantly formed through the combination of basic geometric shapes. However, it shown in the detailing given to the structures such as its characteristic tall columns, intricate detail, symmetry, harmony, and balance in their designs to an astonishing degree of precision. Decorative elements for the buildings tended to be built into the structure itself, making great use of fluting, frescoes, inlays, and embossing.

Due to the actions of local Kami, winter is short in Wæm Vah Mib.

The Hungry Flesh near Wæm Vah Mib are known to be more aggressive than normal.

Wæm Vah Mib's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in autumn and involves performance art to channel Augury energies of tier 3 via mimery.
